About me
Alma Richeh was born in Damascus, Syria and holds a law degree from Damascus University and an LL.M. degree in international legal studies from American University’s Washington College of Law, in Washington D.C. She has worked at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Damascus as a refugee advocate. In 2001-2005, Alma studied singing at the Syrian Higher Institute For Music. Between 2000 and 2008, she was a conductor of the Al Farah Choir in Damascus. She conducted the Choir’s youth division and concentrated on concerts which fundraised for humanitarian causes and children’s rights. Alma is currently the director of the Center for Arabic Culture in Boston where she directs their adult and children's choirs. As well, she teaches Arabic Culture at College of the Holy Cross and international law at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester MA.
