About me
Carolyn A. Cushing (she/her) is a lyric poet inspired by nature, observing our changing climate, and focused on where life and death meet. Carolyn has published poems in local, regional, and national journals, and was a finalist for the Providence Athenaeum’s Philbrick Poetry Award (2012) and Pilgrimage Journal’s Tarantula Poetry Contest (2018). Inspired by seeing the collaborations of Easthampton, Massachusetts creatives, she seek out ways to collaborate with fellow writers and artists as well as share poetry in dynamic formats and unusual places, resulting in projects such as the Poetry Oracle (2020), Chapbook in the Street (2022), and free chapbooks given out at readings and in the supermarket (2023 and 2024). A recipient of grants from the Easthampton and Massachusetts Cultural Councils, Carolyn is finishing her term as Poet Laureate of Easthampton, 2023 - 2025.
